Quick Read, Big Payback

Disclaimer: I'm an Oracle employee and the Product Manager for Oracle SQL Developer Data Modeler. I'm also a friend of Kent's...so with that in mind, here goes!
Short, practical, and extremely valuable best practices that you can immediately start using right away that will probably save your team time and money - that easily pays for this book. Kent's been doing this work longer than anyone else I know in the industry. A lot of design folks are stingy with their advice as they don't want to provide free consulting, but Kent goes above and beyond what's expected from most of our community thought leaders. That's why he's been named an Oracle ACE Director, and more importantly, why he's so well regarded in the Oracle community.
Doesn't matter how good your design is if it's too hard to communicate with the stakeholders. Kent shares a lot of great techniques here how to make sure your hard word doesn't go unnoticed.
It's a short read, but I think you should read it a few times over the space of several days, and see how you can start making little changes in how you deal with your designs for the better.

Well worth the price in time saved and productivity gained

While this is not the longest book in the world, it is filled with very practical advice and things that you'll use every day you use SQL Developer Data Modeler (SDDM). The time saved and productivity gained if you are using SDDM means that you'll come out ahead by purchasing this book in roughly less than 10 minutes. Kent also gives you a coupon code for his online training classes that will again more than pay for the price of the book.
I thought there were a lot of great tips in here and I'd highly recommend this book for anyone using SDDM (and remember, SDDM is free!).

Short and Sweet

Ken Graziano has written a quick "Getting Started"-style book that has some pretty useful tricks for getting Oracle SQL Data Modeler to perform. I love the tool, discovered it a couple years ago, while looking around for a cheap DM tool that would do the job. I missed Oracle Designer -- I prefer the Barker-Ellis Bachman notation and it was one of the few to offer that style. And Oracle SQL Developer has that feature and a lot more. It's limited in the DBMS's it gens to -- Oracle & MS SQL Server -- but those are the majors and, just as a modeling tool, it's a serious professional offering for a price that's not even a price.
Ken's book fills in a few blanks and gives me some cool options to make this tool even more professionally useful. Cool!
